Quip containing truth

Last night Phil and I were joking and he said 'well, at least the ceiling's clean!'.  After laughing I realized that there was so much more than funniness under the surface with that quip.  I mean, how many of us look  at our ceilings?  Probably not that often, but from a distance they look nice, clean, and white.  However, I know that when I get a chair out and get a closer look, I'm bound to find bits of past cobwebs, small cracks, possible smoke damage from candles, and maybe water damage, but definitely dirt.  My ceiling isn't as white as I would like to think it is.  And I realized that people are a lot like ceilings.  We look nice and pretty from a distance, but when we let people a closer look at our lives, they  might be a bit grossed out by what they find.  We all have some dirt and cracks that could use repair.  Thankfully I know the Master Painter is working in my life, and keeps cleaning this ceiling called me.

From Phil's cleverness the title of my blog was born.  Hallelujah, because I was tired of trying to come up with something!  When I wrote in school, I always saved the title for last, it was and has always been the biggest struggle of writing for me.

Sew-La-Tea-Dough, my little niche in cyber space.  A place to note what I'm creating on my sewing machine, what's going on with the kids, the latest foods I'm whipping up in the kitchen, and maybe even the music that is inspiring me.  Who knows, who cares!  All I know is that life is a long journey and I'm glad to have a place to write about it.
